Food as art supply is nothing new, but this is a whole ‘nother level

Lunchbox Awesome is a Tumblr that has a lot of fun with bento-style lunches. Naturally, we dig the Muppets art, but Phineas and Perry is pretty awesome, as are Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket. We’re also digging the turkey with salami tail feathers. And just think, while you’re having fun making characters and scenes from the different kinds of food, you’ll have ended up with a lunch that Drake Hotel chef Anthony Rose would be proud of.

For a little artistic fun at the kids table, set out various foods in small sizes and tell the kids to go nuts.

Dinner parties can be torture for kids. When you’re not into food and wine, hours of adult conversation and pork tenderloin can be tough to handle. Kids feel awesome when they have a space of their own, and there’s no reason the kids table can’t be one of those feel good spaces. Without turning into Martha Stewart’s psychotic alter ego, you can easily please your under-age dinner guests.
