Are you all dressed up or barely out of your pajamas?
Last week Macleans published the article “Stilettos in the schoolyard” about the unwritten style rules that moms are supposed to abide by when doing the morning school run.
One mom who wore high heels at the office figured she’d do the same taking her son to school. She “immediately felt shunned by the other moms.” Trying to battle this mom-on-mom hate, she headed to Old Navy to find something more mom-uniform, but the other parents still treated her as the stiletto mom.
Another mom interviewed for the Macleans story said that fashion was such a part of her that she wasn’t going to stop being who she was just because she’s a mom. Haters gonna hate. Ok, that’s not what she actually said, but we figure that’s probably what she means. What she actually said was, “I don’t like fashion—I love it. And I think if you give up what you love, then you’re incomplete.”
