Sarah Ferguson’s latest children’s book idea
Sarah Ferguson has already written a series of children’s books about a helicopter named Budgie and a couple of princess-y young adult novels, and has now created a children’s story that deals with the events of 9/11.
Three publishers she showed the outline of The Little Pear Tree to have rejected it, telling the Duchess of York that “Americans regard works of fiction about 9/11 as insulting.”
A spokesperson for Ferguson says she’ll publish it herself as an e-book. The book supposedly centres on a pear tree that was stripped of its branches after the attacks on the World Trade Towers. That the pear tree was nursed back to life was taken as a sign of hope and renewal.
