In 2005, Jim Henson Productions announced their intention to create a sequel to 1982′s beloved film, The Dark Crystal. Titled Power of the Dark Crystal, the film encountered some pre-production setbacks. Among other things, a new script writer had to be found, and the original script rewritten. Screenwriter Craig Pearce, who penned Baz Luhrman‘s spectacular Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet, rose to the task, and producer Lisa Henson says she’s very pleased with the results.
