DIY Party Hats

Catherine Romano blogs about crafty projects for kids and parents

Every celebration includes a few party favours. My son’s favourite is the party hat – colourful, festive and fun to wear, the party hat is an important part of my family’s special events.

Party hats can easily be purchased at the dollar store, or you can take a little extra time and design your own set with creative embellishments. The process is quite simple, and the kids will love the opportunity to make a wearable masterpiece. Here are all the details.

Materials:

  • Bristol Board (construction paper can also work, but the more durable the paper, the longer lasting the party hat)
  • Tissue Paper
  • Adhesive tape
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ribbon (to tie the hat on to the head)
