Fairy Houses: More Than Just a Sanity Saver

Krista Rao blogs about crafty adventures with her kids

I must admit that the first time I suggested that my kids build a fairy house (miniature structures built for fairies and their friends to visit), it was purely for selfish reasons — to keep them busy for just a few minutes while I located my sanity! What I didnʼt know was that in addition to keeping the kids occupied it encouraged such creativity, imagination, teamwork and excitement. Since that time, building fairy houses has been our go-to craft when we are camping.

On our most recent camping trip my two children and their two friends spent some time making a fabulous house for the Tooth Fairy and her friends to visit. We were trying to butter her up because a certain little camper will be losing a tooth soon. I took some pictures of the process to make a very simple tutorial.
