Here at Bunch we have officially declared May to be the month of rocking family music. To celebrate, we have rounded up five instruments your family can make from recyclables and items around the house.  Assemble, and then rock out!

1. Guitar:

You’ll need:

• Rubber bands
• Empty shoebox
• Empty paper towel roll
• Scissors
• Tape
• Straw

Assembly:

If you want to make your instrument a certain color, now’s the time to paint your tissue box and towel roll. Once the paint is dry you’re ready to move on…You will need to cut slits into the end of your paper roll, about 1″ long, and bend outwards (this is how you will attach your handle). Wrap rubber bands around your tissue box, making sure that they lie over top of the opening in the box. Cut the straw to fit and slide it under your rubber bands. Secure the handle by sliding it underneath the rubber bands on the top of your box. Ola Amigos!

Cinco de Mayo celebrates the victory of the Mexican army over the French in 1862. What was once a regional celebration in Mexico has evolved into a much more widely known and celebrated event in the US and Canada. For many, its simply an excuse to indulge in excessive consumption of margaritas and nachos.

On that note, allow us to share with you some great ideas on how to celebrate this event with your family.

Virgin Margaritas

You’ll need:

• 2 tablespoons kosher (coarse) salt
• 1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
• 1 can (6 ounce size) frozen limeade concentrate, thawed
• 1/4 cup orange juice
• 4 cups ice cubes

Method:

Rub rim of glasses with lime and dip in salt.  Blend all ingredients until smooth.  Pour into glasses, garnish with a lime wedge and serve!
