6 Films For Your Wild Animals

Movies that let your wild animals get back to nature

School’s out for summer, and arithmetic drills and cursive writing workbooks have given way to popsicles and sprinklers. In the spirit of kids unleashed into their natural habitat for two glorious months, we present five fab film finds in which we are, as Steppenwolf reminds us, born to be wild.

1. Winged Migration (2001)

We know, when kids are asked about their favourite animals, birds aren’t often at the top of the their lists. Winged Migration follows a few species of birds over four years as they travel great distances and face predators.

2. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008)

8 Favourite Park Movies

Our Parklife Bunchbrary

Summer’s here. We totally got a glimpse of it this weekend, which means it’s time to hit up the monkey bars and your favourite climbing tree. Or maybe strap on a backpack, grab some trail mix and head to one of those large natural beauty-type parks. Or maybe you’re more of a toss a coin in a fountain person. Whatever your outdoor play preference, parks are pretty great. Here are some of our favourite park-set movies. (With some help from @AmandaFactorOMG, @nerdibird and @mrcoutts)

1. Madagascar (2005)

Alex the lion is happy to be the star of Central Park in New York City, but his good pal Marty the zebra thinks their African homeland would be a better fit. While we don’t blame Marty for wanting to see what is outside the park, it is a pretty swanky Manhattan address.
