We love us some libraries

The library isn’t just a refuge from frosty weather; it’s also an excellent resource for fun. Aside from offering free books for winter nesting, your local branch can help you get creative with indoor activities while you also get a dose of culture, history, and support your community. 1. A mom writes to Cary Tennis to say her 6-year-old daughter might prefer to be her 6-year-old son instead. The mom’s taken her daughter to get her hair cut short and to dress in her older brother’s hand-me-downs, but the neighbours are getting all judgey. What should she do?
2. Ever leave your partner alone with the kids when you have to go away for work? (or fun?) Do you leave your partner with an extensive list?
3. Sometimes, you just have to pull your kid from one class and put them into another.
4. A word of warning to all you mothers with cheerful, laughing babies: A mom in Georgia was using the library’s computers to prepare for a job interview, but her toddler laughed too loud and she was asked to leave. When she refused, she made a bit of a scene and now could be facing a year in jail. Read more...
