Will your kid take on our Dare to Draw challenge?

This tapestry was created by South African artists of the Keiskamma Trust. This community organization was founded in 2000 by Carol Hofmeyr, a doctor and fine artist practicing in South Africa. She started teaching crafts to women in the community by gathering plastic bags that littered the village floor and crocheting them into hats and baskets. Since then, the Keiskamma Art Project has developed five specialized studios dedicated to beading, felt-making, embroideries, ceramics and print-making, and has presented art in Toronto and Durban for AIDS conferences. Crafts rule.
Starting today, we’re giving you and your kids a chance to help turn the tide of HIV/AIDS in Africa. Like our Dare to Draw Facebook page for more info and to find out what our community creates!
