Celebrate Star Wars Day with a Wookiee Cookie

May the Fourth be with you this Star Wars Day

Star Wars is cool every day of the year, but May 4th is special. It’s Star Wars Day! The only other day besides Halloween and comic book/sci fi conventions when it’s totally OK to show up for work or school dressed as a Jedi or Imperial Storm Trooper (depending on what side of the Force you identify with). And so celebrate all things Star Wars, we must.

1. Star Wars Pancakes

If you didn’t start your day off with Star Wars pancakes, relax. They’re a perfectly normal dinner food, especially on Jedi religious holidays. Special Star Wars pancake molds are pretty easy to find, but if your midi-chlorian count is especially high, you could always try to make your own pancake AT-AT. We assume Jim of Jim’s Pancakes is a close pal of Yoda and Mace Windu.

May the 4th Be With You

Happy Star Wars Day

We love us some galaxy far, far away stuff. Who wouldn’t? The Force vs. The Dark Side among the most classic battles between good and evil. So how should you celebrate Star Wars Day?

Firstly, do your kids know what Star Wars is?

Cool. Maybe you can bake some cookies while you watch and/or reenact a scene or two?

Then take it to the streets! (If only something like this happened on the Bloor-Danforth line)

Just don’t let the kids get too into it. You know, in case Darth Vader proves more convincing than you.

And remember, Star Wars is for everyone. It’s neither a boy story nor a girl story.
