Robyn Knickle shares stories from Hamilton, Ontario
Our house has been on the market for 41 days. It’s been 41 days of cleaning obsessively, constant paint touch-ups and cooking outdoors. Keeping the house in order while living with two kids has been no picnic, but it has been quite easy to get out of the house when prospective buyers come calling. IT’S FESTIVAL SEASON IN THE HAMMER! And we were happy to enjoy two of them this Canada Day weekend.
We live just three short blocks from the best park in the city – Gage Park. It’s an amazing place to be on any given day with two great play structures, a splash pad, a green house and the Children’s Museum. This past weekend however, it was home to It’s Your Festival. This 41-year Hamilton tradition brings more than 200,000 people to our neighbourhood. With a ton of great live music coming from the band shell, over 100 arts & crafts booths and food vendors a-plenty there is no shortage of things to do. We bought gifts for upcoming birthdays, stuffed ourselves silly with perogies, and had a blast dancing at the children’s stage.
