Bright young women
It’s the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. Yeah, a lot has happened in those 100 years — the right to vote, the right to stand for election, the right to choose, the right not to be treated like some Sterling Cooper secretary, but it’s not enough. Four beautiful children named after kings and pieces of fruit are a way of saying, ‘I can afford a four-bedroom apartment and a hundred and fifty thousand dollars in elementary-school tuition fees every year. How you livin’?’ ” Um. This is nuts, but even Tina Fey has commented on the phenomenon so there must be something to it. Via The Stir
