DIY Hula Hoops

Krista Rao blogs about crafty adventures with her kids

Our “summer 2011 must-do list” is lonnnnnng and near the top of that list is something I have been meaning to do with the kids for a while: make hula hoops! Yes, I know, you can buy hula hoops at the dollar store for next to nothing but I do love the feeling of knowing that I can make one myself, plus, on the top of my daughter Avaʼs summer list is to learn how to hula hoop. She has been having very little success thus far with a store-bought hoop and apparently a homemade one is easier to keep up because they are weighted differently.

Last week we used our ONE rainy day to make our hoops and have a hula hoop-making and shaking party in the house.
