An artsy one-of-a-kind DIY vase
Check out these neat vases from old coffee cups on Instructibles. We think Catherine Romano’s tissue paper flowers would really finish these vases off nicely.
You’ll need:
- Styrofoam coffee cups
- Rubber bands
- A weight
- A heat-proof bowl
- Slow cooker or pressure cooker
Steps:
- Have kids wrap rubber bands around cup
- Put weight in bottom of the cup
- Place cup in bowl, in simmering slow cooker full of water
- Watch the cup to see when it expands, then extract it with tongs.
- Let it cool off and add flowers
Note: The InstructiblesTV video doesn’t show any double-boiler bain marie idea – they just put the cup straight into the hot water.
