Robyn Knickle shares stories from Hamilton, Ontario

One of the things I love most about living with two pre-schoolers is how pumped they get about holidays.  It doesn’t matter what the holiday is for, they just love to celebrate!  Our kids were so excited when we told them that Mommy and Daddy were staying home from work and that they were staying home from daycare to celebrate Family Day.  I must admit, we were pretty thrilled about it, too.  It’s so nice to do weekend things on a Monday!

We decided to take a walk just a few blocks away to spend our day at the Hamilton Children’s Museum.

We were greeted at the door by a turtle, whom my 3-year old named Peaches.

Kids take over the AGO for Family Day 2012!

The AGO will celebrate Family Day this year by transforming for one day only into the KGO – the Kid’s Gallery of Ontario! The gallery will offer a family friendly art-making extravaganza culminating in the creation of a day-long exhibition titled Kid Nouveau.

The iconic red AGO on the building’s exterior will be creatively reworked to reflect the gallery’s temporary name chance. Kids attending the event will be encouraged to channel their inner artists through the following awesome activities:  Read more...

• Art making with instructors from the AGO Gallery School, providing kids with a chance to sample an activity from every AGO course offered, including structure creation and installation art.
• Installing their artworks in the Gallery by AGO exhibition designers as part of the first ever KGO Kid Nouveau Exhibition.

Get ready to funnovate!

Old Navy is hosting FREE  “Funnovation Imaginarium” parties in Etobicoke, Ottawa and Calgary,  from 1-4 PM this Family Day, February 20! And if you want to come, all you need to do is just show up!

• And don’t forget the Kooky Cookie and Juice Bar, where kids can refuel.
