With Christmas fast approaching, the search for that perfect gift for that someone special is on! Creating a shadow box with the family is a great way to spend a cold weather afternoon and makes for a uniquely personal DIY gift.
Here’s what you need:
A shadow box (available at craft and art supply shops in various sizes and colours, or a framer can custom-make one for you)
Ephemera (a fancy word for collectable items not originally intended to last for more than a short time, such as ticket stubs, postcards and letters)
Photographs
Scissors
White glue
Adhesive tape
A collection of unlikely materials such fabric scraps, magazine cutouts and random bits from around the house
