3 of the Best Christmas Light Displays

Illuminated holiday displays that Clark Griswold would envy

“Is your house on fire, Clark?”

“No, Aunt Bethany, those are the Christmas lights.”

When it came to determining the benchmark for most awesome Christmas lights display, we went straight for the classic: the Griswold house in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Our protagonist, the stubbornly festive Clark painstakingly staple-guns “250 strands of light, 100 individual bulbs per strand, for a grand total of 25,000 imported Italian twinkle lights” to his house. At first the lighting ceremony fails, but when the electrical kinks are worked out, the house becomes a blinding beacon of light, much to the dismay of their yuppie next-door neighbours.

We’ve combed the web for the most amazing, most spectacular, most Griswold-esque Christmas light displays, and found three doozies. Naturally, we’ve rated each display using our patented Clark Griswold rating scale, with three Clarks being the highest.
