Backyard Chickens are the newest urban obsession. Unfortunately, many municipalities don’t allow keeping farm animals in resident’s yards (Bunch’s home town of Toronto outlawed keeping chickens in 1999). Vancouver, a city which often takes the leading edge on Canadian environmental issues, has newly re-approved backyard chickens, to the applause of urbanites wishing to be more self-sufficient.
