1. The circumcision debate rages on! Bad news for intactivists, circumcision now linked to lower rates of prostate cancer .
2. Some Scottish researchers are looking to revise recommendations that new mothers should breastfeed exclusively for the first six months . They suggest that instead the goal should be not so much in the numbers, but the results — what works best for your family. “Six months exclusive breast-feeding,” they write, “is considered unrealistic and unachievable by many families and promoting this is perceived as setting parents up to fail.”
3. In support of Meatless Mondays , or adding a vegetarian meal or two a week for your family.
4. According to one author, serious career women don’t work part-time, even if they’re moms .

1. Does everyone secretly think single moms are crazy? Katie Roiphe thinks that they mean romantic rather than crazy : “They mean that she is not influenced by the practical news on the ground, is listening instead to another story that is in her head. She is drawn to things that are, according to the dictionary definition of romantic, ‘impractical in conception or plan’ and is in thrall to the ‘heroic, adventurous, remote, mysterious, or idealized.’”
2. People continue to debate whether or not circumcision is the healthy choice .
3. New groundbreaking study finds that stress is bad for parenting .

What we’re reading today:
1. San Francisco may outlaw circumcision . No religious exceptions allowed. The rabbis are not pleased.
2. Teens apparently know the risks of tanning and don’t give a darn . What would work? Scare them with skin cancer horror stories from a young age? Make them watch George Hamilton footage?
3. The American Academy of Pediatrics wants to you to go to the park . One doctor says playing outside helps lessen asthma symptoms, fights ADHD and should cut down on childhood obesity.
