1. Yukigassen
Yukigassen (translating to “snow battle”) is serious business in Japan. Essentially a snowball fighting competition, this game is blasting into other countries across the world, with annual tournaments being held in Finland, Norway, Australia, Sweden and Saskatchewan.

How to play:
Yukigassen is similar to capture the flag, with the addition of snowball throwing (below the waist!) Two opposing teams of 7 players each meet on a playing field. Each team has a home chateau, (made of snow) behind which they stash their pre-made snowballs. Each team can use 90 snowballs per period. A game consists of three periods of 3 minutes.
