What we’re reading today:
1. Is eliminating all chemicals from the house the new baby-proofing ?
2. Confessions of a peanut allergy mom .
3. Working moms and working pregnant moms are nothing new, but what about when “working” means filming in Antarctica and in male-dominated profession?
4. Hooray for nice weather! Yes, we love skating and tobogganing and snowfort-making and other fine winter activities, but it’s so much easier to run around without a jacket. So, how much exercise does your kid really need anyway ?
5. Because apparently we can’t get enough of kids singing Adele, here’s a 2-year-old covering “Someone Like You”

What we’re reading today:
1. With the changes to autism diagnoses, some parents are worried about reductions in services with their kids’ treatment .
2. Do you love Valentine’s Day? Do you hate it? Do you have to mask your hated of this Hallmark holiday since you have kids and they’re expected to give out valentines to everyone in their class?
3. How to raise racist kids: Don’t point out any ethnic differences ever . Turns out we do need to talk about our differences with our kids, and probably sometime before age 9.
4. We’re having a hard time wrapping our heads around this one: one child development prof says that moms and dads need assigned roles and dads need to spend more time playing with the kids while moms tidy up .
5. And while this has nothing to do with parenting or kids, can we just take a few moments to appreciate Adele at the Grammy’s? Read more...

What we’re reading today:
1. So you celebrate Christmas, but you’re not exactly the midnight mass type, so what? Secular Christmas is pretty magical . (Which isn’t to say that a Jesus-is-the-reason-for-the-season Christmas isn’t also rather magical)
2. Do you have strict rules as to what people (grandparents etc.) can buy for your kids’ presents ?
3. Only half of Ontario’s 8-year-olds like to read ? Oh dear…
4. They’ve started selling fake pregnancy bellies in China . We don’t understand.
5. And the latest kid superstars seem to be the Vazquez kids. Check out their cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”… it’s unreal.

What we’re reading today:
1. Not everyone can have a good divorce (or break-up); Cary Tennis advises on what to do when things are tense between you and an ex and there are kids involved.
2. What happens when the 1 percenters’ schools are in the same district as the 99 percenters’ schools and someone suggests they share their funds so all kids benefit?
3. Could America ever become one of those places like Sweden where it’s illegal to spank your kids ? Could Canada?
4. Kids stressed before a big test? Get them to meditate .
5. Remember the awesome girls who covered Nicki Menaj’s “Super Bass”? They’re back and covering Adele.
