World Wild Rumpus
Everyone we know is excited about the “Where the Wild Things Are” movie, opening in theatres on
Friday, October 16th. (If you grew up with Maurice Sendak’s amazing book and if you read it to your kids, you know why). People of all ages have been reconnecting with the book and getting inspired to make some wildly amazing stuff.
On the afternoon of Oct.4th, 2009, at Bunch’s invitation, 700 parents and their wild children
packed the Toronto night club Revival Lounge and had a Wild Rumpus party.
We are sending a challenge out to the world to create your own wild rumpuses. In your basement, in your backyard, or in a night club with 500 other roaring kids channeling their inner Max, we challenge you to be unique and to get inspired to create an experience everyone can enjoy.
We will be posting pics and video of your Rumpuses on our site. Here are some pics and a video from ours, as well as some tips on how to get a Rumpus started:
For some examples of other Wild-inspired creativity, check out our Wild Things round-up which includes cupcakes, the easiest way to make a Max costume, Barack Obama reading the book on the White House lawn, a Wild Things playlist and some other neat stuff.
