Frozen’s Princess Anna is the 12th Disney Princess

The newest princess to join the ranks of Disney’s princess line is none other than Princess Anna, from Hans Christian Anderson’s beloved fairytale The Snow Queen, Perez Hilton reports.

Frozen, set to be released November 27, 2013, will feature Kristen Bell as the voice of Princess Anna and Idina Menzel as the voice of the nefarious Snow Queen. The plot will echo the original story, following Anna and a mountain chap on a clog-donning quest to rid the land of the Snow Queen’s permanent winter curse.

Check out how menacing the Snow Queen looks:

The original script was put on ice back in 2010, so we’re excited to see the project is officially underway. With songs slated to be written by Broadway vets Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Winnie the Pooh), we’re guessing this one will follow the typical Disney Princess movie format — plenty of tunes, thrills and lol-worthy jokes.

And on first glance, we think Princess Anna looks good, but we’re totally entranced with the Snow Queen.

Think she can beat Tilda Swinton’s frosty White Witch from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe?
