If you haven’t heard of Choir! Choir! Choir! — but you have, right? — they are everyday people who get together on Tuesdays or Wednesdays to sing the shit out of something, usually a popular song from the last 30 years or so.

If you’ve never spent golden minutes listening to the honey of their voices as they worship popular music, hear this:

And I don’t care if you hate the song, you have to admit, this version is magical.

Choir! Choir! Choir! are joining with a chorus of other voices this weekend to mark the International Day of Solidarity for Global LGBT Equality.

They’re asking us all to meet this SUNDAY at 1:30 p.m. at the corner of King and John — ready to sing. The goal is to draw attention to the human rights atrocity that is Putin’s Russia.

The song is Sting’s ‘Russians’ — with lyrics altered to fit the current situation. A special web page with links to the lyrics and a practice reel to sing along to can be found by clicking here.

This is a cause that is near and dear to all of us here at Bunch. I will be foregoing the usual nap-time in favour of singing and causing a ruckus. Please consider lending your voice to the chorus. Connect with the facebook page here and their twitter feed here.

I’m going to let them send you out with a little Pat Benatar.

See you SUNDAY, right?
