Avast, me hearties! If you’re the kind of family who celebrates International Talk Like a Pirate Day and uses Pirate Facebook, you are gonna love this. Mom and previous Bunchland contributor Kelly sent in these photos of her family’s pirate ship-themed sandbox, constructed by her creative husband Colin without consulting any plans. Built into their deck, tharr vessel measures 7 by 3.5 feet and features a pirate bell, a movable steering wheel and, of course, a “plank,” which was specifically requested by their sprogs Carson, Nolan and Ella.

You can make this sandbox yourself for $100 if buying all of the supplies new or even less if you use salvaged (pillaged?) lumber. Here, mateys Kelly and Colin share their ship-building tips with ye.

We don’t actually know that much about fashion, but we’re pretty confident that if you name a bigtime designer, Liisa Winkler has modeled for them (peruse her Fashion Model Directory profile and you’ll see what we mean!) And her kids are no strangers to the camera. Back in February she posed for Fashion magazine alongside her new little dude, Oskar, and his big sister, Stella. And check out this clip of Liisa and Stella doing a shoot for Canadian Family (dad Ryan can be seen hanging around the set!) Below, Liisa shares the top 5 things her family loves to do together.

Making dinners fun. We get dressed up very fancy and set the table with candles and mood music. We decorate the room with little lights and eat off of the good plates. For dessert we get a cake from the local bakery and have them write something silly on it like “Caution: cake full of toads” or “Just because we love cake, cake.”  Read more...
