World’s Biggest Train Set

 

A pair of German brothers have been working on building the world’s biggest train set.  On display now in Hamburg, the set, when finished, will be 1,800 square metres and will have cost over 14 million dollars.

Rock 4 the Kids

Rock Band affectionados will be getting their rock on in support of Sick Kids Hospital on April 7th.  Hosted by the Revival nightclub in Toronto, Rock 4 the Kids competitors will pit their mad plastic guitar skills against one another for fame and prizes. Of course, the main point of gig is for each team raise pledges to donate to Canada’s premier children’s hospital. To donate or register a team, visit the website.

The concept of bike sharing, or public bicycles is not a new one, but it has been problematic. In 1993 in Cambridge, UK, the majority of the 300 bicycles released for public use were stolen within a short period of time. Still, in efforts to make cities more bike friendly, and to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, public bikes seem to be a valuable part of the new city planning. Bikedispenser, in the Netherlands, aims to regulate the process just enough to ensure that a bicycle is available when you need it.
